Empowering Young Girls Through Education
Inspired Global Network, known for its community development initiatives, spearheaded sensitization sessions focused on menstrual hygiene management (MHM). The sessions addressed common myths and taboos surrounding menstruation and taught practical menstrual care practices. More importantly, the program emphasized the importance of education over stigma, reminding every girl that her period should never be a limitation.
Speakers Oyeyemi Kazeem, Ochade joy anwuli highlighted the physical, emotional, and social aspects of menstruation while fostering a safe space for girls to ask questions and share personal experiences without fear or shame. Students were also educated on the link between menstrual hygiene and academic performance, as poor menstrual care often leads to absenteeism and a decline in self-esteem.
